Language Arts Podcasts

Mrs. Shelley Armstrong is using tools our students are already familiar with to provide language arts instruction beyond the classroom setting. A podcast (term derived from iPod + broadcast) is a digital recording stored on the internet. Mrs. Armstrong currently has podcasts on adjectives, adverbs and prepositions available from her Grade 5 podcast webpage. Use these to gain a better understanding of class lectures or to catch up on what you missed during an absence from school.

Science Fiction for 4th quarter

If you are in the 5th grade you know your reading requirement for the 4th 9-week grading period is in the genre of science fiction. Spring break is a great time to get a head start on that reading goal! While there are many science fiction books in your school library there are also many in the public libraries for you to check out and read for credit with Mrs. Ross. To the right is a list of science fiction authors you can look for or you may link to the FCS Library and view the accelerated reader lists and genre list to help you choose. Remember, you must choose books that we have on accelerated reader to reach your reading goal. Have a terrific spring break!
