ALA Books for the College Bound
Every 4 years the American Library Association updates its "Books for the College Bound" book list. The 2009 update is now available. We already have several of these books in our library collection and the list is steadily growing. To see what is available in the FCS High School Library visit the online library catalog and search for Category "Books for the College Bound." Keep checking back as more titles will soon be added. For the complete list visit the ALA website. And remember: You Gotta read, Read, READ!

Summer Reading Books
If you are having trouble finding your summer reading book in a book store, don't forget that you can go to the customer service desk and have them order it for you. Give them the ISBN that is on your summer reading list. They can order it for you to pick up in the store with no shipping charges. Or order online from reputable websites such as Amazon or Barnes & Noble. I ordered the sophomore summer book from Amazon and it shipped the next day. See you in August!

New Look of TEL
The look of the Tennessee Electronic Library portal has changed. If you access it from your url line or from the left sidebar on the library website you will see the changes. For now, you will need to sign in using your city, zipcode, and phone number. The only tricky part is when entering your phone number. Use the areacode and don't include any dashes. Much has changed and better instructions will come soon. Happy searching!
